Clearance Electric Hardtail Mountain Bikes

An electric hardtail mountain bike has front suspension but no rear shock, making it lighter and more efficient than a full-suspension e-MTB. It suits riders tackling cross-country trails, gravel paths, and mixed terrain where pedal efficiency matters as much as technical capability.

Clearance bikes are typically discounted to clear older stock, outgoing model years, or limited sizing rather than due to any quality issue. You can expect the same build quality as full-price models, often with solid components that represent strong value for the price.

Clearance stock is often limited to specific sizes, so it is important to check the size guide for each model before purchasing. Most brands size e-MTBs similarly to regular mountain bikes, so knowing your height and inside leg measurement will help you identify the right fit quickly before stock sells out.

For casual trail riding or commuting on mixed terrain, a mid-range motor and battery offering 50 to 80km of assisted range is typically sufficient. Riders planning longer or more demanding off-road sessions should prioritise higher capacity batteries and a torque-sensing motor for a more natural pedalling feel.

A hardtail e-MTB is generally lighter, lower in cost, and more efficient on smoother trails compared to a full-suspension model. If your riding is mostly cross-country or moderate trails rather than technical descents, a hardtail is often the better value choice, especially at clearance pricing.

Yes, clearance stock is finite and sizes or models can sell out without notice, so it is worth securing a bike as soon as you find one that fits your needs and budget. Checking back regularly is also worthwhile as new bikes can come onto clearance throughout the year.

Finding the right bike size can feel tricky, as different bike types have slightly different geometries. To make it easier, we’ve created a Find Your Size tool. Simply enter your height and inseam measurements (or those of the person you’re shopping for), and we’ll recommend the best size for each bike and pre-select the recommended option for you.

Not sure of your inseam measurement? No worries! We provide an estimated inseam measurement based on your height to help keep your recommendation as accurate as possible.

You can find the tool on each product page or at the top of categories when browsing. Try Find Your Size.
